DTLA FIGat7th celebrates summer

For many decades downtown Los Angeles, known as DTLA, has been eclipsed by attractions on the Westside, Hollywood and other local culture hubs, but over the past few years DTLA developers have changed that. With an expanding Silicon Beach for startup tech businesses luring a new breed of young residents, DTLA has seen a spawn of residential lofts and restaurants and shops, such as the latest hotspot, FIGat7th, located at the intersection of Figueroa and 7th.

To celebrate summer downtown-style and introduce more Angelenos to the offerings of DTLA, FIGat7th is hosting an electric series of free and family friendly live music and events through September, with the heart of the city as the backdrop.
Among the line-up of events is Fusicology Third Fridays, featuring listening parties with Resident DJ MONALISA and special guests, and Sounds of LA, an eclectic snapshot of the current music scene in Los Angeles, curated to introduce music lovers to jazz, soul, Latin, roots and pop music.

Every Friday in July and August the TASTE Courtyard & Plaza hosts FIGat7th Downtown Festival with free outdoor concerts featuring live performances by leading pop, rock, jazz, soul and alternative artists. On Saturdays the center hosts City Vibes, a sound experience featuring live performances and spinning by Los Angeles DJ’s, curated by KCRW. Upcoming guests include DJ Anthony Valadez, The Rebirth with Aaron Byrd, Dallas Austin, Fabiano do Nascimento, Jeremy Sole, and Mocky.

Throughout the summer celebration, select eateries at FIGat7th offer happy-hour-priced food and drinks from inside TASTE Food Hall, a collection of fast casual restaurants, including the popular City Tavern which features a new summer patio bar during the City Vibes series.

Parking for FIGat7th is located across from the plaza and costs $5.
